You are uploading estimates for a free audit. These terms say what we do with those
specific files. They apply on top of privacy.md and terms.md.
1. What you are agreeing to
You are letting us keep the estimates you upload here, in redacted form, and use them to build and test the accuracy of SuppSmith — as examples of how a real estimate from your system and carrier is laid out.
That is the whole purpose. We are not buying data to resell, and there is no insurer on the other end of this.
2. What we redact, and when
On receipt, before analysis: customer name, address and phone; VIN (last six characters kept, hashed); plate; claim and policy numbers; adjuster contact; RO number.
Redaction removes the underlying text rather than covering it — a black box drawn over live text is not redaction, and we do not use one.
What stays: line items, operations, quantities, hours, rates, part numbers, totals, carrier, and vehicle year, make and model. Without those the estimate would not be a useful test of anything.
3. What we use them for
- Measuring and improving extraction accuracy on your estimating system and carrier.
- Building and testing rules, including whether a rule fires when it should.
- Internal quality review by our team.
How your shop is identified: your shop name and your own contact details stay attached to your audit and your account. They are not part of the retained sample, which is referenced by system and carrier only.
4. What we will never do with them
- Share them with any insurance carrier, carrier-affiliated entity, or estimating information provider. Not in any form, redacted or otherwise.
- Publish them, or publish anything that identifies your shop, your customer or the vehicle.
- Sell them.
- Use them to train a third party's AI model. Redacted content sent to our AI provider is not used to train their models under their commercial terms.
5. What you are confirming
That you have the right to upload each file, and that it relates to a repair your facility is handling or has handled.
6. Turning it off, and getting them deleted
The redaction toggle on the upload form is on by default. If you turn it off, we still redact on receipt — the toggle controls the copy shown back to you, not whether redaction happens.
You can decline this contribution and still get your audit: untick the consent box and we will delete the files once your audit is delivered.
You can ask us to delete contributed samples at any time by emailing support@suppsmith.com. We will remove them within 30 days. Accuracy measurements already computed from them cannot be unwound, but the documents go.
7. Retention
Contributed samples are kept while they remain useful as test data, and deleted when they are not, when you ask, or when the estimating system's format has moved on far enough that the sample no longer tests anything.
8. No obligation
The audit is free and there is nothing to buy. We will follow up by email about what we found; you can tell us to stop and we will.
